Another growing business has chosen Downtown Schenectady for it's new home. Quirky, a social product development company from New York City that licenses patents and technologies is opening a branch in Downtown Schenectady, located across the street from recent Downtown arrival, Transfinder.
Ben Kaufman, the founder and CEO of Quirky tweeted the news on March 27, calling Schenectady "the town with the most storied invention history in the U.S." and announcing that they will be hiring 180 employees.
While this may not register anywhere near the massive workforce once thriving here, there have been enough sparks of growth and movement happening lately to make even the old timers who remember the hey days when Schenectady was known world wide as the Electric City sit up and take notice.
One of the evidences of this is the increased number of small business owners and investors looking for commercial property in Downtown Schenectady.
If you are one of those small business owners or investors, we have two of the best properties available in the area right in the heart of Downtown Schenectady.
The numbers work on 432 Franklin Street a 6,092 SF two story office building across from City Hall. The 1st floor has an excellent long-term tenant, and the 2nd floor (3,046 SF @ $9/SF which may be divided into two smaller office suites) is waiting for a new tenant or an owner occupier. It is priced to sell at $225,000.
We have a P&L sheet available for 432 Franklin if you'd like more information.
The possibilities are tremendous with 433 Liberty Street, a 10-12 unit fully occupied low maintenance office building with some flexibility on how the units can be laid out. Priced to sell at $209,000. And the lovely suite pictured below could become available if needed. P&L Sheet will be available at showing.
As the street scene to the right shows, these properties are in the very heart of Downtown Schenectady.
Which one of these solid properties works for you? Maybe you'd like both!
